We are very sorry to hear you are experiencing audio quality issues on Talkatone.
In using our service, please bear in mind that call connections are highly dependent on internet/data connections. Therefore, in areas of poor connections, you may experience connectivity issues affecting audio quality and app performance.
You can try playing with the WiFi compression settings on Talkatone and see if this makes any difference.
Change Call Settings in application: Go to Settings —> Miscellaneous—> Call Settings —> try to amend WiFi related settings [Jitter Buffer Duration (WiFI)] and see if the quality gets improved
Recommended value: “Normal”.
On good WiFi connections, users may get better results by reducing it to “short” (half of normal).
On excellent – to “Aggressive”.
The Jitter Buffer Duration On 3G/4G setting is NOT recommended to reduce it from Normal.
Also, you can try to change WiFi channel on your home router as the quality of WiFi connection may be affected by external interference or other WiFi networks which usually use the same channel by default.
